If he wanted, can Isaignani make it in Hollywood with the greats like Spielberg, etc?

Often, I bacame part of discussions involving the mastery of Ilayaraja. Die hards claimed he could take Hollywood "by storm". I was a bit skeptical. I couldn't picture Bruce Willis or Anne Heche or Dustin Hoffman mouthing a lilting English hit with Tamil overtones as they floated down the Colorado River in a canoe with flowers all around them and the hero rescues the pretty little heroine from the gaping jaws of a vicious rattlesnake. Can someone take this further and expand? Assume Ilayaraja WANTS to make it in Hollywood.

  somebody thinks Matrix has good music./ First of all, did it need any frickin music at all? I hope they banish Matrix 2. The music for such movies incl. Fast Furious type crap are done by using template stuff. no creativity, just some random computer compositions. IR doing such things like Matrix: I am sure he would give up his career and hang his hat.

  The chasing scene in 100th naal and Amaithipadai were too different but bought an eery and scary feeling in 2 different ways!!. So I think IR could do the job, The Music will surely stand testimony if it happens.

  yeah sure. ive got a couple of chasing sequence BGMs, which i ripped off frm the movies like Amithi padai, kizhakkum merkum, priya and paadum paravaigal. when i listened to them i was dumbstruck by way IR has treated them. i ve got no words to explain . and god amaithi padai that flute piece was excellent and listen to paadum paravaigal wowwwwwwww!!! no words. sure it made me rethink my own statement - can IR deliver to HW. he is god man he'll redefine the whole HW music industry if given a chance.

  Yeah, i have the movies in DVD.. mesmerizing isnt it... Nice to know that you have similar tastes in BGM with specifics. For that reason and matter of fact only a few people thought in sync with me.. Gr8 to know that...
  IR is MUSIC as V said, He is NEO and everything to me, I surely have a soft corner for him.
  
  My friend who did the Music for Naalai, he is a fan of IR.. goes in length explaining abt how IR could think. Sandeep chowta is (atleast was) also a good friend of my friend who acted in Naalai, bad thing the movie never got released.
  
  I do appreciate and listen to everybody's music without bias..

  good to hear that we v similar tastes. BTW iam biased slightly towards IR but still like many other MDs including ARR.but i cant equate anybody with IR.
  i too hav a friend who is a singer he comes out with new facts abt IR every other day. once when we were talking abt IRs visualization of a scene - he explained to me that in the song senthaalam poovil just b4 the lyrics 'valainthu nelinthu pogum paadhai'IR had visaulized/related that to as a snake and used magudi at that place.when he played me and made me listen to it i was astonished and in the second saranam IRs portrays a mood of travelling to correlate with the lyrics 'alagu mugintha rajakumari' and again at 3rd saranam the mood he gives us is spring season to correlate with 'ilaya paruvam malaiyil'.
  he concluded with saying that if they had never picturised the song. all of us wud hav got a better visual in our minds only by listening to that song with our eyes closed.and music wud ve spoken to us even if the lyrics were not there.

  Are you taking about the song sollividu vallinilave song and BGM of amaidipadai. It is by KR.Since IR left for stmphony KR did amaithipadai,uzhaipali,kalaingan etc..

  I surely would be more eager to listen to IR than anybody else.. that is my Soft-Corner for IR, ie. my enthusiasm will be more for IR than anybody else, that is my Bias..
  But i will not be a person who will say that this album sucks or use harsh words against any MD coz, it is their preference. If you see my posts, it will be clear that it is MY OPINION.. probably i might be wrong and missing the nuances, so you people could help me out.. and that is welcome.
  
  Mature opinions are good, like V's post, Kiru's post & you. If i dont like the discussions I surely dont intervene, just have fun and enjoy the posts... like somebody really made me laugh about beats and dhandanaka (a reply to post by Dinesh)..

  XML: bgm of Amaithipadai was done by IR.. You could correct me if I am wrong.
  The song RS is mentioning is from the movie with Rajni and Sarathbabu.. Senthalam poovil from Mullum Malarum

  I loved UTHIRIPOOKAL bgm and MR first movie (it was kannada) with balumahendra as camera man.. Anil kapoor in the lead, you should watch the movie... it is a marvel..

  Can you tell me how to rip off BGMs from DVDs? Not that I can't figure this out for myself, but if you already have the knowledge, share it and I'll save time for better purpose. There are many sequences that I would like to possess. There is a piece in Ramana, post-deepavali-building collapse!!

  In one interview KR told he only composed the song solli vidu velli nilave. That time IR was in london. In news also said in uzhaipali,amaithipadai,kalaingan KR did more work.

  there r many softwares available in the market to rip off songs or music frm vcds. as iam in india and DVds r not much in market iam using vcds only in my PC. the software i used to rip off was VCD CUT. u can also do a search in google to get some freebies/shareware of similar softwares.
  
  as iam ripping it off frm VCDs the quality of output is not equivalent to DVDs.

  I have just uploaded the BGM clips from Amman Kovil Kizhakkale about 24 files ( man.. what a pain to U/L to the coolgoose.com), in my openion, the movie was less than ordinary, however the songs as every one knows were one of the nicest of IR. Listen to the BGM clips of this movie how IR has done some excellent job to movies of this sort also.
  I really need some body who can volunteer to host some of the greatest BGMs of IR movies in a public domain( entire Mouna Raagam movie , Vanna Vanna Pookkal, Murattu kaazhai, Idayam, Chinna Thambi, Sigappu Rojakkal, Karagaattakaaran, Ullasa Paravaigal, Kazhugu, Moonram pirai etc...)to send me e mail, so I can send them a copy on CD.
  I really do not find time to U/L to coogoose or uther sites ( I was just trying to see how long it takes to U/L in coolgoose)
  Any other suggestions are welcome, let me know about the quality too.
