Venkatesh,
Please do wait.
If IR decides to give out
the info, then it will
appear in the concerned
site. Otherwise don't
believe whatever the
millions invested audio
companies, media etc says. ;-)
Vijay,
I completely agree
with you. IR has more
freedom in mallu.But
i am not sure whether
he is on the top over
there.am i right?
what i tried to say
was that inspite of IR
giving couple of good ones,
still he is unable to reach
the top or surpass the
sales of other MD's.
whether you believe it or not rhythm's
single day's sales would have surpassed
the fortnight sales of bharathy or HR.

Bug,
What I meant was IR takes less albums to even contend for the top position in mallu. he takes about 1 or 2 films at the most every year. so no point in saying that he is not at thetop and all that while VS survives only on mallu films as of now since he has no market in Tamil. This also doesnt change the fact that IRs albums are much better in Mallu than in Tamil.
and right now we are discussing about musically beter albums rather than commercially successful ones. in that aspect IR still scores in Mallu.

Vijay,
Musically better albums are bound
to be commercially successful ones.Top Sales
of an album is the yard stick for a tasteful
music album which will depict the **current
trend in music **among the public.
IR's KUT, KN, KKP etc maybe a big hit among
the film music deprived indians living abroad
but not among the people living in India.
Thevaye eillama i guess we are still
hyping much about IR's albums unable to digest
the fact that it is already pretty sour.
Maybe it is making us feel good and cherish
the memories.

Quite untrue. all of us know that Guru was a great exception to this. No one knew of it in TN. people had to literally hunt down the CDs. there are many exceptions like these. songs and albums that have gone underappreciated. these are the reasons why a guy like IR is frustrated and its still surprising to me that he keep throwing surprises now and then.

IRfan,
Precisely this is what IR shoudnt be doing. Committing himself to films whose director itself has not been finalised yet.

Vijay, Sabesan
I specifically mentioned "music album which will depict the **current
trend in music **among the public". I wasn't
generalising everything.
If MSV is asked to-he can produce
one more of his early 60's songs. Do you
think people will like it now?
Similarly for IR-he is unable to give
what people wants NOW.
That is why i said that music albums
that caters to the current taste among
the public are successful commercially
satisfying the public at the sametime.
Kushi would have sold more. :-)
Question of the current taste in music
among the public is a different subject.
I am not saying that it is worse than what
it was in ealry 80's or 60's. Neither I am
saying that it has got better than those times.

Bug,
u made 2 separate statements. they were not linked and so it seems that u said that all musically better albums should be successful, which is not so. also albums that reflect the public's taste need not be musically great.

thambi buggu,
I have been reiterating the same points for the last two years, but all in vain. As long as IR keeps producing music for movies like "Karisakkattu Poove.." or movies with "Thali" sentiment, all we have to do is sing, "God save the king..."
I listened to Bharathi over the net. Maybe the quality is bad or whatever, it did sound like 'Mellisai' in Doordarshan. Angapparu..ellarum enna adikka varanga!! Likewise, I have the cassette of "HeyRam", and somehow I don't feel like playing it in my car. But one exception is Kannukkul Nilavu..songs are fabulous!!
I feel there is a big void in the entire music scene..not only in India, but the whole world..I donno why!! I mean, be it HFM or TFM or Western Music, 70's and 80's sounded much better. TFM is very stale with our Vairamuthu's extreme appreciation of words like "Vervai..", and our thenisai thendral's Gaanas. If you want to talk about HFM, after Nadeem-Shravan's fall, I am yet to come across a decent album.
And interestingly, if you want to talk about western music, it is pathetic!! Bubblegum artistes like Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera are ruling the roost!! and all this "howling" in the name of R&B is encouraged..and worst of all, RAP!! I call it the "Satan's Past time"..guys like Eminem are super hot. When can I ever get to listen the Melliflous songs that I used to hear when I was a kid..God only knows.
I feel thirsty, thirsty for good music. If it comes to Indian music, IR is the one and only person who can satiate my hunger for good music.
Kudos to guys like Madhan, Athi, Vijay, etc.., but I feel whatever they say, even they can't be convinced of what they mean. Its been eons since we've heard a master-blaster album from IR. call me crazy or whatever..I want an album like 'Anjali' or 'Agni Nakshathiram' from IR. All I need is the answer. When can I expect an album like that??

Looks like friend bug nowadays misses no
opportunity to criticize the official
web site of IR just as he does that to
IR atleast a few times every day. Mr.Bug
reminds me of Mr.Cho of Thuglak who
only criticizes but doesn't have any
solution for anything.
Also Mr.fan(Mr.Srikanth ?) is at
his effusive best in categorizing
people as paranoids etc. He always
requests people not to thrash him
verbally but doesn't think the same
the other way. Mr.Fan, please be
considerate towards others too
when writing about them.
Krishna, thanks for your appreciation.
Also your point on IR's musical capabilities
is good.
Also vimal thanks to you too. Vimal,
have you listened to Kanna Unnai Thedukiraen
yet? It has some very good songs which
impressed me in the first hearing itself.
I think KUT is a very good album by IR
in the past few months.

Athi, Vimal
Ada neenga vera yennappa nambalai
thaakareenga?
For your kind info, i have only
IR's songs collections with me and some
MSV etc.I don't listen to the stuff (music?)
produced by other MD's.
I was trying to say that IR isn't commercially
doing good inspite of Guru or HR etc.In this
regard only i said that music albums which
reflect and caters to the CURRENT people's tastes
are successful. If it isn't great among the
present population then why should the sales
soar sky high?
Patti thottgalil you can listen to ARR's
deva's songs.
GURU might be a big hit among us but not among
people in India. If it was a super duper hit
then IR should have made re-entry into
the field.Ethai thaan naan solla vanthen.
Vimal, wish IR could give us some
good music as you had mentioned
but it should appeal to the mass
not the minorities like us.
Athi-I am not casting any acrid words on any
site.It is just I am bothered by the way it
is has claimed itself and do not do justice.
I might be the one to say this openly, maybe
there are several others who do not want to
say this and know for themselves. I don't
get any fun out of this. Why do you have
to look at me like an enemy?
I do have solutions for what I
say provided they are
willing to listen to my humble suggestions.
