Shankar: Please read my post again....
"I think that he compared Muthu with some of the Deva albums for Rajani. I personally didn't like Muthu very much, but lets face it, the album was a hit, therefore, something in it caught the attention of the mass. Each to thier own."
I never said that Muthu was good. Also, in England, the Sri Lankan's are not as big fans of Rajani as they are in Madras......There are more ARR fans here than Rajani, hence, it was the songs in Muthu which were hacked to death.....What can I say.
I also think that you should know that Sabesh-Murali did the BGM of ESK, not of good standard. They also 'execute' all of Deva's music wishes and are said to be the ones who totally do his 'Sindhubairavhi' Gana songs. A lot like the En Payaru song. I happen to know a guy who used to play keyboard for Deva in the past. Deva gives the 'METTU', copied or not, and Sabesh-Murali orchestrate it.....That is why I named that song as a clone of one of theirs......

Geetha - Hee,Hee, Hee - let us face this also - Daler's albums have been super - duper - bumper hit - something in Daler's "Tunuk Tunuk Tunuk" and "Nacchuk nacchuk" also caught the attention the mass - of course, each to their own !!!?*@&%#^^^**!!!

I'm getting tired of this crap again. People, I've dug a nice, unhealthy ditch for ARR bashing called,"Is ARR running out of stuff". Please take your stuff there. Let this thread be a place for interested parties to swap info about upcoming releases. Reviews can be given (yes, good and bad) in the new reviews permanent thread. Please don't stink it up for everybody.

Machan!! Apdi podu Aruvala!
* Even Baba Sehgal's songs were super hits. If you ask our experts, they'd say, "Oh! It is based on Nattai Ragam, and blah..".
* All the songs in Telugu by their talented Musical Brains are Super-Duper hits. They go like:
"orai donga dabba thenga"( sorry for my poor telugu). They have superb rhythm in them:
dishku dishkoo bishku dishkoo.
What do our experts say?
Ans. The beats are products of sheer novelty and genius. Notice the "dishkoo" in the second beat instead of "bishkoo" as we might have expected.
* There is a heavy-metal song sung by Suresh Peters: "enga appaaang..... manga mandayang.. yeh..."
Experts: " Wow, Suri(they know him very personally, so..close..)has proven himself again that he is no flash in the pan. Let his thondu to TFM continue."

I posted this on he "IS ARR..stuff?" when the apt place is this.
IMO on Padaiyappa:
(1) Theme song
It has alredy been called a stale "composition" (decomposition rather :-)). At length it had been marauded and I do not wish to add more fuel to the fire.
(2) Minsara Kanna
A very good effort from ARR with disturbing results. Admitted that Nithya is a gifted Carnatic exponent, but she is intolerable in this duet. Special note needs to be given for the incoherent swaras/ alapanas at the end. A real good start sailing uncomfortably through the middle crash ending at last.
Someone needs to tell ARR that use of Nithya does not obligate him to make her sing swaras in every song. The effort of ARR is commendable but the output is not.
(3)Suthi Suthi:
Thank ARR for giving this tune - IMO the best in the album with SPB allowing his voice to melt and mix with passion. Harini's voice is really adorable in the sense that it tickles (which is the inferred theme of the song). The lryics are completely unacceptable and just wondering how VM manifests his perversions verbally. The need for "edhugai - monai" (rhyme) has really pulled down the lyrical quality.
I personally feel SPB and Harini's voices are excellent when they are individual. Harini sings very lightly whereas SPB has done it heavy. The former's voice gives apicture of an 18 year (or near that) old girl and the latter's of a mature male. Seems a bit of mismatch - IMO though.
(4)Kikku:
An OK song from ARR. Nothing to comment/commend.
(5)Vazkayil
This song would have been better if the lyrics read "Ayyappa" rather than "Padayappa". With a little distortion here and there in the lyrics this song will be a very good hit among the Ayyappa bahkthas (paatiley puli ellam varuthu ). As inferred from the lyrics it is an "energy booster" for Rajni in the film. The very first song which struck me when I listened to this was the "Kallum muLLum kAlukku meththai". I wonder if ARR had tried a "bhakthi" song on Padayappa.
On the whole the winner of the album is Suthi suthi vantheega of SPB + Harini
All strictly IMO.

Hi guys,
Baically ARR tried to something differnet for Rajini. But the true fact is that he failed miserably. His kiku eruthey song resembles manirathnam's movie-Iruvar.
Rest of songs---ayoooooooooo!!!paavam ARR.

According to Boney Kapoor, in the Latest issue of Filmfare Pukaar will release in the second week of June, immediately after the World Cup. According to Subhash Ghai in the Times of India, he is going to release the music of Taal in the first week of May at a special function in Mauritius

IMO,
Roja Roja and Oh Maria are the only two songs that are catchy. It's difficult to enjoy the others. As an ARR fan, I hope this is due to poor audio quality of the format.
