the psychology behind "raja & rehman comparison" threads

I am sick of finding seemingly endless comparisons between raja & rehman. For once, let us stop talking about comparing raja & rehman. Instead i would like to discuss the real psychology behind "what prompts people to resort to such comparisons. What sort of personalities relish such fights. What might be the internal motives of such comparisons? Are there any sincere people involved in such threads or is it mere cheap ego trips?". This has always been an intriguing riddle to me. Help please....(for heaven's sake please do not start another sickening fight here too.) :-)

  Yes, Mr. O, stage-singing seems to be the resort for some very talented singers. And your guess about the singer's son is right. I have been to at least half a dozen TFM recordings - IR, S-G, VSN and MSV (all in Chennai).

  Mr.O hope you haven't stirred a hornet's nest with your statement on IR. I'm sure it will be a highly quoted one henceforth. Any reactions to the KJY-SPB comment? which brings me to another question. Why do you there aren't any SPB-KJY fights? or have I missed some of the fun?

  s0, now YOU have stirred the hornet's nest by stating so :)). Fortunately for all of us, KJY and most other currently active singers have shed off/never had their "attitudes" towards their colleagues, atleast seemingly so.

  The problem with ARR is he did not openly release statements in all dailies saying that IR is his God. He is nothing compared to IR. All he learnt are from IR and all his tunes have IR's inspiration some how some where.
  
  Leave these things. These things are nothing.
  We could have forgiven him had he admitted that IR is No.1 in the industry followed by his sons. He is the last in the rating and would love to be there so that IR remains in the top as long as IR wishes. Poor chap ARR.

  ARR is really a nice person. He keeps to himself. One of my close friends had a chance to see ARR in the chennai airport. It seems ARR picked up his own baggage and walked away with out much fuss though every1 there was ready to help. In the same flight also came a 5th or 6th ranked tamil hero(I do not want to name him). This guy made a thin coolie lift up his huge bags and was standing there and wanted to get all the attention and treated everybody with contempt. I think ARR is more sophisticated and a civilized person. Now IR fans do not jump on me...THIS IS NOT A COMPARISON OF ANY KIND. I am just sharing what I know.
