  Happened to watch KKKK.
  
  Just wanted to point out that the movie has excellent BGM by ARR. The music blends completely with the movie and is awesome in quite a few places.

  Kandukondain Kandukondain was more of a combination in my opinion of three hit movies: Taal, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, and Unnidaththil Ennai Koduthen. It was like Taal in the sense that Aishwarya from a small village went into the city and gained the fame of music....it was like HDDCS because just like Ajay Devgan helped Aishwarya (Nandini) find Salman Khan, Mammooty helped Meenakshi (Aishwarya) search for Abbas and her love. It was like Unnidathil Ennai Koduthen in the sense that at the end, what is friendship turns into love...just like Karthik did all he could for Roja and she ended up marrying him....Mammooty did everything for Aishwarya and she married him. The three themes were very well woven together and presented... However, the many characters did take away from the main focus.... But there are soo many things to be appreciated---especially the music... The scenery for each song is very well picturized and presented...in a movie, it is not only the story, but the cinematography and the music. The music is very strong and has an excellent blend of classical ragas to the rhythms of modern music, still preserving and not destroying the traditionality of the classics. Also, I would like to add that I met A.R. Rahman in New Jersey today at Raaga Music store....he seems to be very quiet and composed, but surely his talents cannot be equalled by any other....

  Rahman is a good MD...but he could tune the BGM bad if he feels that the Dir has ----wed the filming of the songs. I recently saw "Sangamam" on video. (IMO, "Varaha Nadhikkarai..." should rate as one of the best songs of the decade). The filming of the good songs were appalling...
  
  For e.g., I hope all of you have heard the song "Muthalmurai Killippaarthaen...". In the film, it was picturized horribly...a "maattu vandi" and a car are ambling along at a sedate pace and the hero and his love singing the lines. I guess the Dir (was it Suresh Krissna?) either didn't have the budget or was running low on ideas. Any self-respecting MD if happen to see what "they" could do to your work could get ----ssed off. What ARR did for BGM was almost an insult to the moviegoers but he might've been justified. For BGM between any two song sequences, he just plays the last song in various instruments...this is repeated throughout the film! Man, even though I was shocked at the start, I realized what ARR had done...then had a hearty laugh!

  Gyani...let me know when the ARR's album with those songs are going to be released. I would sure like to check them out. An MD has nothing to do with the lyrics...as long as the tune is hummable, I wouldn't mind a new version of baba black sheep...:-)).
