IQ: Last 2 days aa New Orleans la Tabasco, Hot Sauce, Cajun Spices saaptEn. But I guess the 'thaNNi' and the Mardigras 'spirit' has dulled the impact of any kaaram whatsoever:-)
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: Why do we need to assume that Shashi's question about using Asha in Tamil is meant to be compliment? I read it as "indha 'washed-up' artist a innum evvaLavu naaL naam vEdhanaiyOda sahikkaNumO?"

hi,
arr has done a great job in ap.though lyrics are nice for 'sep.matham'song ,cant understand why arr failed to give good music for that song.its running too fast as if we fastforward it.'kathal sadugudu 'is superb spb charan has kept up his dad's name.only one disappointment -s.janaki's voice is missing.all arr-s.j combinations worked out very well then why arr lacked to call her?
rekha.

Rekha, ente nilamaa vera maathiri:-( (sigh). Enna panna, my life is a graveyard buried of hopes. Hey, maybe Kandukonden Kandukonden might have Chithra in it. Honestly, why ARR makes these 'tamil murderers' sing for tamil movies and avoids those that can sing in tamil is beyond my comprehension. I have made up my mind to despise 'AP'. It took all my strength to sit through 'yaaro yaaradi'. Hmm... watch, I am terrified and am already having nightmares that ARR will call upon Udit Narayan to sing Bharathiyar songs in Kandukonden Kandukonden. Worse yet, just imagine ARR singing that song in the style of 'Vande mataram'. TTTTTTTTHHHHHHHirAAAAAAtha villaiyyyYYYaadu pillai?:-)
KK will be out in two weeks....well, persay...we know rahman:-))

You dont seem to appreciate ARR's interest to propogate Tamil. All this hindi singers will be working day in and day out now learning tamil, hoping that ARR will pick them up for the next movie too. But andho paridhaabam. ARR is going to fly off to UK I believe.

Hi rajaG
CLARIFICATION
Looks like you got the reviewers mixed up! I have nothing to do with the comment that was published in rediff.com; the question about Asha being used in tamil was raised by another reviewer.
Please check out my review on Alaipayuthey in this thread and also under ARR's new movies reviews.
Thanks

Shashi,
I suggesting that you review the songs for the 'flow of the melody' as well. To me, I have noticed this, in IR's songs (for eg. gAyathri kEtkum, oru mAyaththirai vilagum). You seem to be giving importance to the orchestration/instruments. I thought importance should be given to the actual flow of notes of the pallavi and charanams. In this movie, some songs have some phrases repeated from previou ARR songs, I think. Or maybe its the style of the composer. I will give examples later.

- From: SRK (@ icache-3.doit.wisc.edu) on: Sun Mar 5 16:47:56 EST 2000
I listened to Alaipaayuthey. The album is excellent, esp the songs Pachai Nirame and Kaadhal Sadugudu.
IMO, this is a better effort than Dil Se by ARR.
- From: SRK (@ icache-3.doit.wisc.edu) on: Sun Mar 5 17:03:22 EST 2000
The flute piece in Pachai Nirame has shades of Irish folk music (you can find similar pieces in Enya's music).
As Sashi aptly put it, there is a lot of variety (Carnatic - Alaipaayuthey, Hindustani sounds in "Yevano oruvan", Irish, Latin American) in the album which makes it highly refreshing.
Even the song Snehidhane is outstanding.
Overall, a very satisfying album.
- From: best (@ 193.50.180.124) on: Mon Mar 6 07:08:26 EST 2000
pachai niramea is the best..
- From: Rasikhai (@ 195.44.223.151) on: Mon Mar 6 14:45:54 EST 2000
I found the song 'Snehidane' to be a stunning piece of music guys....Also i thought that the Pachai nirame song contained a very distinctive Riverdance/Corrs style of violin playing....It complemented the song greatly.
I am really looking forward to getting kk kk as i have faith the ARR as usual, will deliver the goods of a high standard!!!!
If what I heard is true, I would love it if ARR moved to UK!!!!

Interview with ARR..didnt know "Chaiyya Chaiyya" was an "inspiration"...

- From: pg (@ gate02.merck-medco.com) on: Fri Mar 10 11:33:12 EST 2000
‘Chaiyya chaiyya’ has been inspired by a Sufiana tune written by Baba Bulleshah. How
do you feel when you get most of the credit, and nobody talks of the original creator?
Ummm, there are some immortal love songs, which are divine. ‘Chaiyya chaiyya’ is
divine inspiration.

Yup, he does not deny it. He is just calling it inspiration.
I was wondering how he came up with 'chaiya, chaiya'. hmm ..ARR let me down here. Another song which I liked 'thangath thaAmarai magaLe' - has the musical arrangement (not tune) inspired by a Khaled "Nsi Nsi" album song.
- From: Bramathalam (@ 208.0.121.20) on: Fri Mar 10 16:05:11 EST 2000
Guitar bass from song "Pachai Niramae" number from Alai Payuthey is inspired (copied) from from Simon Garfunkel OLD FRIENDS collection.

Thanks for point out the spelling mistake:-). I just didn't think I should be bothered to look the correct spelling to repeat to such a ill-mannered posting.
I have decided from now on to ignore the ill-bred children that come on to this site.
tata...
By the way, I hear that 'KK' is available in swiss. Is this true?
