Great point clarify. Arularasan I agree with you too. But in addition I feel music taste has come down. We are hearing pop/rock/heavy metal music these days and not TFM. Damn it TFM needs to be unique and IR is probably the only one who can make it sound unique with his fusion..the real fusion. This is unfortunate but yet true. Yes, the harsh reality is that IR could fade away as one of those geniuses who was taken for granted and not given due recognition. Anyway there have been a few during our time who have not been recognized. IR is probably too good to be in that list. Whatever the truth is very harsh and I am one of those shattered ones like clarify. But can be do something?

I have a feeling that IR is tired of the nonsense that is prevalent today's music culture. Music is shrouded by chaotic sounds and blaring expressions. Is there a way out for IR's music to stand out? It is possible, if someone just dedicates their life to this goal.

Clarify! For once I agree with you whole-heartedly! Well expressed, karthik! I was in tears when I read your post:((.
Beautiful point about the indulgence that Raja's genius needs ...much like what MSV used to provide Kannadaasan. Sad that you and I are not producers in TF.
rajaG, for about 98% of your post I thought it was another of your dhjksfl stuff. When I completed, I realised it wasn't. Anyway, howcome the successful MD's of today aren't too keen on SPB either?:))). I think much of Raja's fading has got to do with his not having the 'broad mind' to use UN, KS and Ranu Mukherjee:))

Hey Clarify,
I dont think IR has to do Hindi music to get all India recognition. He needs recognition only from the music world. Kamal maybe a great actor but he is too "inspired". And Mani Ratnam is no Satyajit Ray. So IR does not need the help of these guys. He is surely not in the same club as Mani Ratnam.
So dont you guys worry about IRs recognition. If you care just buy all his CD and save it for posterity while you enjoy it daily. Everyday I listen to his songs I discover more and more subtleties. Album's like 'GURU' are a good way to get introduced to Western Classical Music.
If you live in North America you can easily to go to a Western Classsical music concert. You will then realise what IR is doing in TFM. You will also realise he is miles ahead of any other MD (yeah..including ARR).
So like I said I dont give a hoot and even IR doesnt, I'm sure. But dont forget to enjoy his music.
If all goes well we will soon see him enter the Western classical music composition world with a bang.

Are you sure that IR has crossed 750 just now ? Unbelievable , I thought he crossed it an year before. Does this mean ....???

Raj(esh), sarigamapdani: I dont know any songs in both the movies: mu. amaichchar jayandhi & suryaa IPS. But Surya IPS was released in 1991, I guess. Will they dubb so late?
SM: I might have missed few movies (esp.ly in other languages) for 1998 & 1999. Thats why I had given the list here. But by end of 1997, IR had only 730 released movies, [kaadhalukku mariyaathai being the last in tht year, released on 25th Dec 97!, But was considered as 1998 for all award/top-10 1998 etc.. in most of the satt. TVs]

Can some one clarify what is the meaning of the sanskrit slogan preceding the song "kuttu Kuyilai pattu Pada .." from MVU.
IR's voice and pronunciation is "Atcharai Sutham". I really love it

Man of the match:
This is no new album but a recent one by IR in Malayalam. The songs are very good especially the one I have given a link below. Confirms the partiality of IR towards TFM.

MS,
a brilliant number indeed. But, i won't compare it with GURU (it's as good as yAthramozhi songs though)
