Suresh,
Well done. I read the article and was pained to see the remarks about IR. Rediff is a fast food newspaper but still if they wish to attain some good status, they need to verify things before they publish. Though I regret I did not write to them myself, I sincerely appreciate your efforts.

Visiri,
I saw KC last week. The song Oranjaram seems
to blend well in the movie and even the lyrics
match well since the hero Parthiban in the movie
mixes english a lot while talking and is
portrayed as a person with an analytical mind.
The movie was good and the music of IR
made it look more attractive. Unfortunately,
the song Kayathri Ketkum was not there in
the version I saw.
Eventhough the movie had some typical
P Vasu sentiments, it was very good overall
and conveyed lots of positive thoughts.

Earlier, when music maestro Ilayaraja was at
his peak, he too had a similar clash with Vairamuthu and had, at that
time, vowed to finish off the poet -- metaphorically, that is.
For a while after that, Vairamuthu was, in fact, sidelined by the big
producers and directors, at Ilayaraja's bidding. But in time, it was Raja
himself who faded away, while the poet bounced back and how.
what is defamatory here? that IR has faded away? hasn't he?
suresh, interesting to find that u ask rediff to stick to facts, when u urself have claimed that ir has done "around 1000 films":-)

I expected some people to defend the rediff
article with regard to the remarks on Raja and
I have been proven correct. Now I can
understand why such articles are written. And
this remark on Raja has been repeated so many times and which is outrageous. And what is the need to make slanderous remarks on Raja when talking about VM-ARR feud.
One thing we should understand that this is
a thread about IR and there is every reason to
mention about articles which attempt to
denigrate him with no real need and strongly condemn them. But to question the need to refute such damaging statements is ridiculous and hurts people more. Iam happy that there are people like Suresh who promptly write to rediff objecting to the facts in the article.
May be people who find the article full of real
facts, can write to rediff requesting them to
publish more such articles instead of ridiculing the person who expressed his feelings directly.
When the same rediff questioned ARR about copying, there were many people who were furious in this forum and were lashing out at rediff. So
much for their appreciation of facts.
Disappointed,
Athi

A related thing comes to mind.
There used to be a moron called D.S.Ramunajam
who used to write the most insipid and inane
reviews for Hindu and he used to purposefully
ignore Raja's music when reviewing a movie and
sometimes make lousy comments. He was finally sacked after persistent attempts by some forum people like Suresh.
I think this spicy journalist Arkaay needs to be
meted out the same treatment soon. Ofcourse this
might look unpalatable to some contributors of this forum. I don't know whether D.S.Ramanujam's reviews looked too good to the contributors who are finding the junk rediff article to be nice.

Yenna sir srikanth, bb, athi and all...
There is every reason for all, be it IR Fans or ARR Fans to single-mindedly lash out at this Rediff idiot.
If, on the one hand it talks about IR trying to destroy VM ( I dont know how true this is, does someone know ?) , on the other, it (the article) talks about a certain Jayaraj - "the brains behind Rahman" - does he suggest that Rahman's compositions are not from his own brain or something?
If this is not outright sensationalist "DIRTY" journalism... god save us!

Hari,
We should not give importance to this kind of articles, this will give more publicity to them, just ignore, those words will not reduce what raja or arr has done to tfm even by an inch
, infact Vm would have bribed rediff, who knows......let us just ignore it, rediff is known of these kinds of articles...who cares....

secondly for the people ..who expected some people to defend the rediff
article with regard to the remarks on Raja!...
NO one is happy about this artile like a passionate fan who has every right to say.... something here...similarly few expressed something related to raja, the truth is raja's fame has faded away...what do you want to do? , halo sir this is the fact....you fail to remember...no one said his music has faded....Mind it a real music lover knows that a small stone cannot cause a dent in raja...which YOU are not aware..stop using your intellect in a wrong way to ill treat people,
you are ill treating people just for saying things which you fail to think or it is not in your way.
Same person whom you called a moran would turn god if he/she writes something bad about someone you dont like or good about the person you adore....you will rave about this so called moran then i bet on this...
spend your engery to learn and enjoy musical works...instead wasting time on these yellow book articles...stop trashing people.
these kinds of blind fandom kills the sprit of tamil music.
I am not supporting rediff here, who cares about it...
You might be disappiointed...many are not...they expected this from you....infact i was just waiting for the past 2 hrs..

Hey bb,
As one of the persons responsible for this site, it is rather ironic to see your moronic, biassed statements. Please try to be true to your conscience. IF you feel yourself to be anti IR, get yourself relieved from this responsible position.
This Df is no kids play, no chat room. Many fans feel emotionally attached to IR and if you really know what it means, please resist yourself from such postings.
Please listen to Yathramozhi or Guru or Poonthottam or Kannukkul Nilavu or Hey Ram or Devadhai or Avatharam or Friends or Sethu or kaalaPani.
Do you think cassette slaes is the a major criterion for popularity? If so "Salam Gulamu" or "salomiya" or "Andalu" should be songs of the decade!!
Have you ever listened this song from some RK selvamni movie? "Netru Vandha KAtru..." if you're not able to appreciate the genius and the creativity of this man, your words will be given no serious weightage or respect in this DF. Atleast not by me, and let me remind you, I can be the mouthpiece for atleast 5-6 regular fans of this site.

Suresh, athi, Vimal:
Do not be put off by the anti-IR sentiments expressed iin this thread. Continue to speak your mind.
I do not think these people's comments are going to anyway denigrate IR's fame. I agree with you Raja's latest songs from Time, sethu, Hey Ram, Kannukul Nilavu, Karisalkattu Poove, Kanna unnai Thedugiren are superb...He is not fading away.. It should not affect you guys and it will defintely not affect IR. Keep it up, Guys!

IMO, IR did'nt "fade away(!)" because of VM by any means. If the fact that he scores less movies
than in the past or his not scoring for big banner
movies means he is "fading away" to some, so be it. He is better off composing good music in the sidelines than trying to satisfy those looking for commercial yardsticks for success.
If his music sounds less appealing to some now, whatever be the reason, VM has nothing to do with it !
One other thing is, I wonder if it is the name of VM which makes movies run and albums sell. The why so much hue and cry about this guy ? Because he calls himself a "kavi pErarasu" ?

VM has nothing, i mean NOTHING to do with IR or ARR's success. lets leave it like that guys. ARR would be just fine without VM and IR has already given us atleast 50 good albums after he parted ways with VM. lyrics do not determine the cassette sales. no one listens to a song for the lyrics these days.gone are those times.
anyway VM is not writing classics these days.
