  IR is a genius: nothing else to be said. I heard his recent movie album "dharma" . It was great: where he gets those magical powers? It's no wonder that he is going to work with SANKAR. In fact Sankar should be very lucky fellow.

  IR is done a wonderful job. Good recording,worth Buying album, excellent rendering by S.P.B

  1. Iru Kangal(Pathos) - S.P.B & Chorus
  Superb tune, Superb rendering - Vintage IR stuff
  
  2.Thinam Vidinthathum(Bit song) - S.P.B
  Watch out for the beautiful Guitar piece.
  Great Stuff.
  
  3.Iru Kangal(Bit Song) - IR
  This song comes in 4 diff. Orches. Each one of it
  is a gem.
  
  4.Iru Kangal(Bit Song Pathos) - IR
  -do-
  
  5.Dharmangal - S.P.B and chorus.
  Raja has used Techno in this. Quite enjoyable.
  It is of the format of pottathellam from Bharathan. Good stuff.
  
  6.Manakkum - S.P.B, Sujatha and Chorus.
  This song has got a great rythm.
  This is of the format of Santahikku vantha kili from Dharmadurai. Guys watch out IR magic has started working again.
  
  7.Chembaruthi - S.P.B, Swarnalatha
  Foot Tapping melody. Really makes your feet move.
  The only place I felt it could have been better was the piece after the first charanam.
  (The tune, the rendering are great)
  
  8.Iru Kangal(Happy) - S.P.B and chorus
  Folks take my word, this song is goin to become a hit.
  Watch out for the Venna + guitar interludes, the way raja brings in the thali kattum mood in between the song.
  
  Overall I was impressed very much with the first hearing.
  If u like IR's stuff even a bit go and grab the CD.

  I am staying in a place called worcester, its 45 miles from Boston,MA,us. I am regular visiter to TFM. I heard that songs from poonthatam r enchanting, i could not resist from hearing the songs, but here i don't know where i can get the CD or cassatte. I need more review about the poonthatam songs, particularly about hariharns song which he took nearly 14 hrs of practice.Any TFM member near this place..

  MPR : 'vAnatthu thAragaiyO is astounding. The one rendered by Hariharan makes me mad.
  
  I personally fell 'mEEttAtha vEEnai' is a bit complicated to sing. Mahalakshmi sounds good in that. The guitar rythm is also good.

  All song in kannathal are very good.IR score music for this movie only one day to six song.After kataalukhu mariathai,IR began to show briliant music.He is the best ever was and best ever will be.Our maestro illaiyaraja would became as a best music director/composer in the world.If you want to know about IR upcoming movie list,you have to go to cyberhome of ragadevan illaiyaraja.Nobody can beat IR music knowledge.Music is illaiyaraja and illaiyaraja is music.We can't compare IR with AR because AR is not a good music director just like IR.IR born for music.IR life is music.IR music already touch intrenasional level.He is now busy to compose music for more than 30 film.I have read in the newspaper that IR also will score music for c.sunter latest movie.

  Guys, Whenever you make a reference to Poonthottam Songs, all of you invariably miss the song "Oru iniya malargal" lyric - Arivumathi and sung by IR. Check this out! A strong contender for the TOP list with GOOD Lyric too.

  poonthOttam songs: Very good. 'iniya malargaL' by IR is great. vAnaththilirundhu by IR is a beatsy sOga song. But, beat and sOgam? Thats rAjA. rAjA mayakkufies with 'iniya malargal'. Absolutely different.....long live nAdhabrammam rAjA!!!

  poothotam and dharmas songs on the countdown , are first of all not that good. And not to dissapoint ir fans but i have to say this: in the poothotam song, the background part of some part of the song is definetly from o baby, baby,and the dharma song has touches of ennai thalatta varuvalla!
  so after all ir can't get out of his lone succes in years! and tries to fool us with addind same type of music! on the face for ir fans!

  Dont just throw your arguments without proof.
  IR has said that he would give us a 'Virunthu'
  soon. And as he promised, he has just started
  and all other personnels in cine industry started
  going behind him for his music.
  Who said Jeans is success. You better do some research on it and findout which is a success.

  I dont agree with your comments on Dharma,Poonthottam song.I heard one song from poonthottam, Dharma in India Direct.Dharma song with a very fast pace.Song from Poonthottam which is sung by IR(Iniya Malargal) is again very pleasing to hear.I would not say that IR is churning his old tunes again.If you think so then i feel sorry for you.I Hope you hear the songs once again without any prejudice.
