  You reflected what I had in my mind. !
  You are talking about the guy who made the video cassette and his musical taste. What about the director ? He gets such a wonderful piece from Raja and he himself truncates the song to half in the movie. (Just the first CharaNam comes in the movie., Not the second one, same happened for 'Naan thanga Roja' song also. There the first CharaNam is missing and the second is there). I really wonder why all these guys need Raja at all and more than that, Why Raja is working with these people.

  Your question `how much does IR get paid for a movie' is an interesting one... just now I read an interview by the KM producer in `thirai.ambalam.com' wherein he quotes what IR said when he made his 1st movie `karimEdu karuvAyan'(the time when IR was at his peak): `paNam onrum ippOdhu vEndAm, lAbam vandhAl kodungaL'. This IR did in acknowledgement to the fact that this person gave him chance in stage dramas during IR's struggling days!
  
  In turn, he is sticking to Raja even now & we all know what a big hit KM had been!
  
  Let's ask Kamal, or his managers, how much they paid him for HR!

  Your info was Correct. But Sangili murugan is not that STICKY with IR I feel. Just before KM, he made a film 'PaasamuLLa paaNdiyaree' **ing Rajkran and co. Deva was the music Director for the movie. The film was a MEGA FLOP and Sangili almost came to THERU 'coz of kadankaararkaL. At the same time, Fazil approached IR with KM Story it seems. IR heard about this sad story of Sangili murugan and asked Fazil to do this movie for him. KM became a hit and thats it. Sangili murugan thappiththaar.

  Thanks for the info that the song does not appear in full even in the movie. Infact that is more shocking than the fact that it did'nt figure in the video cassette!!!!!! Long live TFM...

  I think IR should agree for movies based on the story, director's ability etc. He should be choosy in selecting movies for which he composes the music.
  
  I felt terribly sorry when I saw the movie Time, all of IR's efforts seemed to go waste, similrly there was a movie called Naam Iruvar Namakku Iruvar, done by Karthik Raaja, that too went for a toss though the music was good, and incidentally both the movies were starred by Prabhu Deva.
  
  BTW, do ppl. know that Bhavadhaarini & Karthik Raaja are composing the Music for the "dhigil" tele serials being shown at 10.30pm in th sun tv?
  Karthik Raaja had already composed for the Serial Bible, but had been unlucky as the serial was not screened fully.

  Dear Neruppu, source for info. Bombay Talkies.com I think - some film critic has given that information..if MR refuses to accept IR, then KH would certainly back out - but I think after Hey Ram, MR would not mind having IR as his MD, since HR audio has been given good reviews

  1)You have just discredited all of IR's pre-Hey
  Ram works.
  
  2)You mean IR is at MR's mercy?

  I think you are reading it wrong from madhan's posting. He is not discrediting pre-HR IR.(i bet he wouldn't even think about it!-)) I feel madhan's statement was only about MR's point of view.

  I think MD for MR movie can be ARR by all means. I don't think KH will insist on IR. Believe me KH is also an opportunitic person
  
  Reasons
  
  1) Why to goto LS for HeyRam movie?
  2) For "Indian" music was composed by ARR
  3) For Avai Shanmugi, Nammavar it was Deva &
  Mahesh
  4) Even for HeyRam KH must have come back to IR because he might have felt LS was not upto the mark.
  
  IR seems to be more innocent man than any one in Cine field, Chennai. People are taking him for a ride. And sure he knows about it all. He is more a philosophical person and I don't think these things hurt him any more. This is my personal opinion. I have nothing against KH. I am proud of a genius actor he is.

  It is already an old story that, KH went to IR before he approached LS. IR turn it down due to some reasons.

  Few things regarding last few posts here..
  
  * Indian is shankar's movie..kamal is just a actor, he cant choose MDs here. shankar and am ratnam are the boss. IR might be the only MD for this forum, but not for industry.
  
  
  * If you have 1 crore and nothing more, will you invest the whole on a IRs album..just because you are his fan. So there is not sticking funda, sentiments in a matter of money. Financiers dictate terms there.
  Not sticking to IR doesnt mean they dont respect him. eg. Parthiban.
  
  
  * Nammavar was reportedly missed because of IR
  symphony assignment. Kamal reportedly wanted to counter Rahman with mahesh who had good name in jingles. Kurudipunal becoz of some similar reason. kamal said in TV or some mag ..'we tried IR and couldnt get him..but mahesh has done a good job. (may be kamal wanted release right on deepavali)
  
  * Introducing LSubramaniam is not that bad a idea. My northie fan knows LS but not IR. Search on the net for fusion music you might find LS, even ranjith barot, but not IR.If IR is famous in few circles..LS too has his credibility. I expect people with good music, should be welcome in films. Its like we want good people to take politics.

  average and below average music( not my opinion general, dont beleive me go check planet bollywood, two stars)
