  actually the new thread created by rAjAG had a different intention from the original thread. the earlier discussions have just been mental "self-satisfaction" or a virtual hall of fame. rAjAG is aiming at something more concrete (pun intended :-) ) the problem with this "more tangible" "goal" is that it need huge investement of time and money. who is going to bell the cat? time might not be a problem. money? to be anything worthwhile, it should be completely managed by fans of TFM. (leaving it to the "professionals" leads to chaos, imo.)
  
  as i understand rAjAG's dream, he is hoping for a "real" kaLanjiyam/museum of TFM.

  APrt from choosing and honouring the best in TFM is it possible for us to compile a data bank of ALL the songs that have appeared in TFM so far for the benefit of those the Tamil community (and all) Something like what film news Anandhan has done but this would be in the virtual world available from anywhere and for everyone.
  This could include
  
  1. Original Tamil film songs.
  2. Dubbed Tamil Film songs.
  3. Original Background scores for Tamil movies.
  4. and songs released but not used in movies.
