  I wish to add one more to your list which is, by the way, a good start to choosing a good singer. The new singer should also be able to change sruthis for the same song - reminds me of the song Vaidehi raman by Janaki from Pagal nilavu.

  Some lady named Shweta asked me if I would like to compose a song in raaga Bhairavi. Here's my reply:
  
  Today, I listened to a KJY carnatic song in that raagam. Whoever composed that tune musta been a hell of a music genius. Why? Because, Bhairavi looks pretty simple, as it doesn't have any mind-boggling vakrams, like, say, Reethigowlai or Puriyadhanasri. Neither does it commence on any note other than the shadjam, like, say, Saindhavi or Navroj. It looks like you can just attain it by using the notes of Karaharapriya going up and the notes of Natabhairavi going down. BUT the raagam calls for tremendous gamakam. So it's really not simple at all.
  
  First, let me master Hanumathodi. (I have already tried handling raagas like Hamsadhwani and Kamavardhani, and even some that have never been used in film music, like Shadvidhamargini or Vanthanathaarini. I don't mean to be a show-off. I'm just stating my personal experience.)

  Thirupaal kadalil in Bhairavi was composed by none other than MSV,as also the other song, Adhisaya Ragam(Mahathi ragam), in which 1 charanam is in Bhairavi. yes , its tough to compose a song in this raaga.

  Purv, in your earlier post ,I think you have confused Vaachaspathi as Vanaspathi( ???)
  satsona, Thirupaarkadalil is not by MSV. It is by the great doyen of Malayam industry , Devaraajan . AnnaiVelankanni, Paruvaraagam are also some of his Tamil film compositions.

  Mythila, I don't recall ever mistaking Vaachaspathi for Vanaspathi. I know that there is a big difference between the two raagas.

  you mean as "background mds" or mds who compose their own songs?
  
  Im a tamil dude who has composed lot of tunes on my keyboard, the problem is i cant sings and explain the tunes to any one and i cant find some one who can sing the songs. If i new how to put them on website i would have done that.
