  'Ek aur prem kahani' sounds like Karthik Raja's work. Overall the album is real bad. The melody, the flow everything is missing. After listened ot this album, we can feel the beauty of using real instruments instead of syncs. Did you enjoy the instrumental piece of 'kAthal Oviyum'? It's really good, this is the only one I liked in this album.

  Pinchi is right. Kokila, Balu Mahendra's film with Shobana and Kamal had music by the sweetest melody maker of all time, Salil Chowdhury. I have seen the movie on TV. I believe the songs were first composed in Bengali, then brilliantly refined for a Malayalam movie and then the same songs were used in Kokila. Among the three great folk music composers ever: Ilaiyaraja, Salil Chowdhury, Ravindra Jain, Salilda had greater success in transcribing almost all his Bengali songs,which are entirely folk based, into another region, unlike the level of success, Ilaiyaraja faced .
  
  In fact, Balu Mahendra's music director before Ilaiyaraja was Salil Chowdhury: for Kokila and Azhiyatha Kolangal.
  
  When I met Salilda in Bombay( as it was one of my life's goals) I asked him from where did he get that unique melody of his. He said, it was all his own. There has been no Raga associated with his type of melody. Only two weeks later, my Idol breathed his last.
  
  My question here is: Does anyone know if there was any influence of Salilda on Raja. My observation is that, only these two greats had the special mindblowing quality about thier interludes.
  
  Talking of Ek Aur Prem Kahani, it looked as if Raja was tired of himself. While, the songs had smaller interludes, there was something new in the tunes as compared with the originals.
  
  But folks, don't miss any of Raja's Kannada originals. In Malayalam, I think Olangal was incredibly unique. Particularly, the song Kulliru Aadunnu Manuthu by KJY, the longest interludes Raja has created for the Guitar. It is easily an Oscar winner!

  Dear friends this is the review about IR 's new kannada movies by my brother
  There are about 8 songs in Prema raga hadu... with two music bits
  (repeat). Manjula guru has sung two songs. the catchy hit would be
  'lalana mani..lalanamani..' by SPB and MG and there is one 'ba
  baare...oh gelathi' by a new singer & MG again even this is good. That
  himself has sung a song. Not that good but OK. In
  hoomazhe, the title song is good by Dr.Raj, there is one song by the
  anantha swamy types, slow and good & other songs are all a sort of
  group songs and good to listen and would be too good to see in the movie
  I think. No news about the reviews and about any new movies of 'mottai'

  I guess, The music seems very very basic, IR
  has used, tabla, Harmonium, and kawali type
  of music. I would like to leave this song for
