He just came in blurted out a few things and went off never caring to explain. Is this the kind of respect this thread deserves?Should we pay any attention to him?If you guys think we should then say so.
Anyway,he took a few things off his chest, hope he is feeling better now.

Dear Friends
Have anyone of you ever tried to compose a song ?
If you have tried then you will understand.
Dont let your fanatism and super ego take over your musical appreciating sense.
The new generations respects IR very much with full of respect but they just cant stop listening to ARR so whats wrong with that.
Dont just say he is a good sound engineer.
Even for being a sound engineer u need to have good depth in music mere controlling of instruments doesnt help for the final output of song. Have you ever visited any of the recording studio and observed how a sound engineer works,
ARR songs have revolutionized tamil and indian industry if you cant digest it get over it man.
Everybody have their ups and down,IR himself told this in a DD interview many years back,
He said 'Ippo neenga ellam IR musis pazhya msv tamil padal mathiri illanu solveenga, enakku apparam vero oru md varuvarku appa IR music eppadi erunthathunu compare panuveenga' he really must be a clairvoyant!!
So grow up old one!!
Now IR sons Yuvan is getting popular day by day among youngsters so what are u going to say about that.
Try be a good fan of music instead of a person.

a.ahmed,
Come on Sethu's music was never any where near chart busters
I don't know whether they busted the charts or not, but, IMO, 'mAlai en vEdhanai' is one of the best songs I've heard in a long time. If you don't like it, that's a different issue. But, how can you say that IR is in the same state as SG or Adityan now, just because his songs were not chart busters (even that is debatable - several of his songs last year were chart busters). All the songs in "Sethu" were composed aptly to the situation and the BGM was great (I'm an ARR fan also but it is a known fact that IR is the only MD in TFM who can give good BGMs). IR's 80s songs were great. But, he is doing very good even now. Listen to "hey Ram", "Barathy", "kAkkai siraginilE" and give an honest opinion. Films like "manam virumbudhE unnai", "nilavE mugam kATTu", "karisakkAttup pUvE" had very good songs too.

You are getting facts wrong again and again. YSR did at least 2 movies in 1999. 'poovellaam kaettuppaar' and 'unakkaaga ellaam unakkaaga'. He may have done even more. Please check your sources.
BTW, the comment regarding 'spraying bovine s**t' was very funny. I liked it.

Let me try and bring the topic back to the thread title:
I listened to Bharathy so many times (I don't remember the count). One of the best albums of IR (IMHO).Every listening takes me deeper and deeper into the songs. Raja make those those who say he doesn't give lyrics importance or doesn't compose song for pre-written lyrics - eat their words back.
'Edhilum ingu' is my favourite. Can somebody throw some light on Madhu Balakrishnan? - A beautiful rendition by him.

Ahmed,
If I get a chance to do that sanni stuff, I wont mind doing it for IR. But, what problem do you have in it?. We dont have personnel favours to be earned from IR, so how will it become jalra?
IF you point is IR fans favour YSR just because of his father. Just say so?. Why are using your poetic stuff like sanni, jalra etc?
You havent told a single point where IR is bad technicaly. You seem to have proplem only with his fan's loyalty and his lack of movies. That doesnt bother us, we like it we listen and talk. Would you tell your friend to abandon her mom because she is old?. If you have something meaningful to say in future, lets talk about it.
nurag,
why are you taking about ARR in this thread anyway?.

KK and other IR fans,
Let me analyse IR'S recent music
IR did give excellent tunes even in early 90S...SINGARAVELAN,MANNAN, CHINNA KAUNDER,CHEMBARUTHI,EJAMAN.DEVAR MAGAN,WALTER VETRIVEL,MARUPADIYUM,CHINNA THAMBI and couple of other Raj kiran Starrers had soulful music....
But the early 1993 saw the arrival of ISAI PUAL....ARR... ARR'S success gave terrific complex to IR...Soft but ARROGANT....Introvert but Egoistic...IR could nottolerate or digest the fact somebody junio to him had over taken him in terms of popularity suddenly...OVERNIGHT IR developed this ARR FOBIYA which started affecting his quality of work...Only few films like...ORU OORILE ORU RAAJAKUMARI,RAMAN ABDULLAH,RASSAIAH,NATTUPURA PATTU ....had IR'S kind of music...Others...except KM ....were....reflections of a dejected....person's ....half handed ...leave ..it
Even the music of BHARATHI....had IR scored before the arrival of ARR ,he would have done a far better job....
One really wishes that IR come out of this ARR complex....
MR.Informer....YSR did music for POVELLAM....long time ago ...and Unakkaga and DEENA ...are not major products....as such....

Ahmed,
Your posting seems to be driven out of the fact that you can't tolerate/digest the success of IR movies these days against the total musical failure of ARR in Tenali. You can't tolerate the fact that Bharathi is doing well and as NagaS mentioned YSR getting good films recently. And KR getting MR's production. I personally believe IR is above all these petty politics. Please don't drag a Genius figure like IR against a money minded fellow like ARR. If you wish you can talk about YSR/KR when you compare against ARR. I think they are on equal terms. Tell me which decent albums ARR gave in recent past, musically. You can't compare the talent of a person with how many movies he scored. (You will analyze each movie he scored) That way SAR and Deva come before everyone else and ARR is at the bottom. If you think YSR is not getting popular, please visit sites like aaraamthinai.com and musiccurry and other sites.
Yes, ARR scores for big projects. (No risk at all. Make huge money and movie becomes hit thanks to Director, photography, actor etc.,)

STS,
What are the recent successes of IR besides Bharathi that people cannot tolerate? Even 'Hey Ram' songs which I thought were good weren't big hits.
Regarding ARR being money minded, is/was IR scoring for free? I thought Gnani in his title refers ONLY to his music capabilities OR does it mean that he is a saint in every respect? :-))
Let YSR/KR compose for 20-30 movies, then we will think of comparing them with ARR. For now, let's just say that they have potential.
ARR's recent albums:
AlaiPayudhe
KK
Rhythm
Tenali
All these have gone right to the top of the charts. All of them (including the much-maligned Tenali) have at least a couple of good songs.
Seems to me that some of the hard-core IR fans here first see who the MD is and based on that decide whether they like the song or not. What I don't understand is why they like KR/YSR since they are not like IR at all. Kinda like Rajini-Kamal fans who won't like the other's movies irrespective of the quality?

Songs, as fas as ARR is concerned will be (at least technically) 'hear'able. But there can be two reasons Y ARR is gettin out of INDIA lately.
(i) MONEYYYY (earn as much as possible)
(ii) to show INDIA that he is capable of making Westerners admire him in retrospect to IR's SYMPHONY #1, but with exception that ARR is younger than IR at this time.
But don't tell me ARR is doin all these in interest of JUST music alone. Anyway, ARR is goin back to where he came from, leaving Tamil cine music open to be invaded by Raaja FAMILY.
Hope Mr.Ahmed will agree, if any please reply decently.
