As far as I remember., 'Sollaayoo' cassette has two versions of the song., one by MG Sreekumar and the other one by SJanaki., I don't remember a Arunmozhi version.,
Can somebody Clarify ?
(However There is one more song 'Nenjchee guru Naatharin sevadi ninainthee' sung by Arunmozhi in the same movie)

NagaS, i think Arunmozhi had sung it initially and then by Srikumar finally (ennappaaa solvenga edhaaai, like someone sings the intial track and finally , the original singer sings separately, like that)..... though i am not too sure about this....

I listened to the sample. First of all I should say the encoding quality is very good. Great RAAJANGAHM !
I was on work, so couldn't concentrate much, but on the first hearing, I liked 2,4,7 & 8. Song 7 has, in places, a very different tabla beat ! Does song 8 have a ghazal or hindustani touch (there is mridangam aswell as part of the prelude)? I felt it when I heard that song.
As usual, the songs are very different!

On second hearing all the songs are really different with some new sounds. Raja has'nt used his trademark synth beat and shades of raja we all
know is emerging.
"Shivakara" stands out. Atleast the first half is captivating.
Its amazing the energy level he manitains. After almost 25 years of composing he still retains
some freshness.
A true natural gift.

IR is scoring the music for a Malayalam film with Om Puri in the lead. Film to be directed by Joemon (of "Samrajyam" fame).

I agree that 'shivakara's start atleast sounds promising. Its a beatsy number set I think, to subhapanthuvaraali scale. I think its better IR starts composing music for only mallu films, we atleast get to see glimpses of his old self.
similiarly 'shivamallipoove' from Friends by KSC is one heck of a song.Does anyone know what happened to the tamil version?

And also, after a long time u can hear those trademark tabla beats of IR in that song. The song as such reminds me of 'Kandupudichen kandupudichen'.

Digression:
Director Kalangium (Poomani, Kizhakkum Merkum, Poonthottam) says IR is not MD for his own production because distributos do not want IR as the MD. What happened to these producers?

from the movie kochu kochu there is another brilliant song titled 'oda manjil'sung by sujatha and yesudas, it is set in rag suddha saveri.i have seen the movie,guys IMHO by looking at the picturisation of the song the tune just melts with the scene.this proves one more time that IR is deivam to all the music directors

Vijay, KK Poove may not be IR's recent best, but how many present-day composers can merit a comment like (from the same review) -
"In Karisakattu Poove, Ilaiyaraja amazingly conjures up a south Indian village even when he uses a European-style violin orchestra..."?

karisakaatu poove song "ayiram kodi" is a great song and IR should be given full credit for given the golden melody touch .
Btw how is the fim doing ?
