  Avoid calling IR as "Mottai". I personally don't like it and I'm sure there may be many in the forum to share my feeling.

  I agree 100% with you - MVU is 10 times better than KK. All songs are above average!
  
  I liked Alai meedhu the most in KK (great orchestration and violin accompaniment). IMO, that song should have been placed first in the cassette and not Thakdhom. Once you place a great song in the beginning, the listener's mood is quite different when he encounters ordinary numbers like that. My personal suggestion to IR would be to take active interest in the placement of songs in the cassette; if my reco for KK can be implemented, rajaG's experience will be like this:
  
  a) get KK for $2.99
  b) Unwrap & insert into his Sony 1000W
  c) Alai meedhu flows with lovely percussion and violin
  d) It stops abruptly with one stanza while rajaG wants more
  e) HH sings the Diana Diana (swallows Vennila which is tolerated by rG due to the Alai meedhu effect)
  f) IR/Sujatha song which is melodious follows
  g) Feels the cassette is worth
  h) No time to listen to the other side now, later....
  
  How different an experience it would have been!!

  We think that way and u know what the cassette shop owner told me??
  
  He says there r great songs in the movie and the song he first quoted was thak dhOm...
  
  similarly , if u notice , the 2 most catchy (to masses) songs will be the first and the last song of the cassette. The tendency of the public is that , while trying the tape they'll play the first song and reverse the cassette play it again to check it.
  
  It's not the case with Raja or arr or deva , even if u notice MJs thriller/bad the most popular songs (which he thinks will impress public in the first listening ) will be the first and last songs.

  Just listened to Kummi Pattu.
  There are 8 songs in the album.
  7 of them are out of the world.
  
  I think is IR's best album in the last 3 or 4 years.

  'Worst' is a very strong word. Try avoiding this. You are telling 'These people don't understand Padayappa & En swasa katre songs'., I would like to return the same thing to you. Rajastan is not a masterpiece by IR ., I agree., but it is not defenitely not 'Worst'. 'SOrggaththil Nikkah nikkah' by Shankar mahadevan & Bhava is the BEST Dance sequence song i have ever heard in the past few months. Try to see the use of Drums in this song & enjoy the tune's 'catchy'ness.( THe hindhiwala lines sung by Bhave & Chorous is Out of this world man). IR is the only tamil MD who is able to produce melodius tunes even in songs like this. Do you think this is a worst song ??? if you still think so, go and hear 'En peeru padayappa., ' or 'Jumbalakka., ' ungaLukku athuthaan sari !!!!!
  Others, DOn't think Rajastan is a great album or a worst one., IMO it is an average album spoiled by all the lyricsts.
  1. Sorkkaththil Nikkah., - see above. Great song guys., I keep on listening to this song 1000000 times !
  2. 'Jinjil laaraa' - 'Jinjil lara, Rani engee pooRaa ? BULBULDHARA meetti paatap pooRaa' - enna ezavu lyruics (PB) ithu ??? Tune is very good in some places & Both swarnalatha & Bhava has sung this very well. But as i told before - Song is GONE by the great efforts of Pazanibharathi !
  3. 'Machchaan, Machchaan., ' - Better i skip this song. Listen to this song & decide yourself. No comments from my side.
  4. 'PeNNenRaal' - again pazanibharathi., Tons of English words., Similar to second song., IR has given very good tune in some places.,(especially the one sung buy Unni krishnan) BUT PB has the last laugh. Spoiled again. sample-kku oru lyrics solReen.,

  5. 'Jai jawaan' - Remember 'Vande maatharam' song from 'SiRaichchaalai' ?? Remember KR's song in album 'Meri jaan Hindustani' - Take these two in 2:1 ratio., Mix it & you get this song !!! Lyrics is a bit better when compared to other songs & the tune is also good. A GOOD Song.
  
  In short., Rajastan is a good album. If you want to buy it., Buy it for Ilayaraja., Don't expect too much from this album., Don't care about the lyrics., If you don't know tamil., it will be very good.,
  
  But personally i feel IR should have done a bit better by carefully choosing the lyricsts and by asking Karthik raja to stay OUT !!!!!!!!!!
