  listen to Julie Ganapathy in www.thaalam.com..... it has a "music" bit too.... good one... i liked the "Minmini paaarvaaigal" song very much.... looks like KJY has still not lost his stuff.... and the guitar that comes in the song is very good..... especially at the end - both guitar and flute is damn good.....

  Shreya - sounds good in both her songs..... her pronounciation is also good.....
  
  certainly a very good album by IR..... except for the "kaaka kaaka" song, all others are very good....
  
  my pick is the KJY number - Minmini paravaaigal, followed by "Idhayaamaee"....

  I guess nojalra is just spreading rumors by talking abt a non-existent movie called as "Uthiratha Pookal".And to say that there would not be any songs in a movie abt Chenda(Drum) is like saying that there is water scarcity in Chirapunji.

  Kamal's production "Nala thamayanthi" has music by Ramesh Vinayakam , the MD of "University" and Ey nee romba azagaa irukke"(1 song). May be there's some diff. of opinion between Mouli and IR(family)

  JULIE GANAPATHY STORY LINE IS VERY SIMILAR TO A STEPHEN KING NOVEL WHERE A WRITER IS HELD HOSTAGE BY A FAMOUS FAN OF HIS AND SHE ASKS HIM TO WRITE FOR HER ETC. JUST CAN'T SEEM TO GET THE NAME OF THE NOVEL. ANY ONE KNOWS??

  where did you get the news that it is based on Misery? I took a wild guess after reading the two articles in Webulagam. If it is true, then one can expect Balu Mahendran to do a good job in his own unique dark style. He seems to have chosen an exotic location in karnataka, and using rain as backdrop. IR should have enough to do in BGM in this psycho thriller though 'silence' will play a major role. But why songs?
  
  Well all this is assuming that the movie is adapted from 'Misery'. I wish it is so!!

  I heard the Julie Ganapathy songs today ..
  
  1.Except for Thanni Konjam ,all the songs are very good ...
  
  2.The Minimin Parvaigal song should not have been sung by Yesudas ,probably SPB would have been apt for that ..Still a great song !!!!!!

I happened to watch the shooting of this song in AVM studio (Starring Srikanth and Trisha) last September when I was in India.   JG Songs :
  1. I liked the theme music . Very catchy.
  2. Enakku pidithata paadal(good melody in Kaanada Raagam by Shreya. Vijay also makes a decent effort).
  3. Thanni Konjam( Prassanna has a different good voice and has rendered well. (esp the 2nd line ). This tune is also refereshingly different.
  4. Minmini paarvaigal- nice melody spoilt by KJY.
  5. Kaaka - Just bad.
