Nandha seems like it will be the best release for Deepavali. After the poor movie of Alavandhan, which was the only real main competition for Nandha, it is only fair to say that Nandha will be a smash hit. The story is great, the music is great and the direction will be great.Overall the best movie to release?

To an extend, Vijay TV gives credible news. I beleive that. Even their songs count down are very apt to the trend. So, their listings have got to be correct.

The movie was in general good but there are certain big holes which lack explanation like
1. why did Nandha become the way he did?
2. why didn't his mother ever visit him in the jail?
3. This is the biggest blunder in the movie when Rajkiran's addressing Nandhaa (like Krishna did to Arjuna!). The address itself! His idea that he himself becomes God (or God like) in punishing the "wrong-do"ers sucks big time!
-- For how many more movies to come these film-makers are going to be doing this? Why can't they think of a way to identify the cause that makes some people become "Nandha" and try to treat or remove the cause itself?
The lack of love and therefore, humanity is what is needed for this world now. We need only such movies. Not the ones that try to promote peace through violence and terrorism.

Karthi,
I think, you didn't watch the movie properly.
here are the answers for your questions.
1. The characteristics of each and every person differ. You may be very soft natured. Your friend may be very possessive. In that way, Nandhaa is very aggressive and he loves his mother sooooooooo much. You might have realised that in the first scence itself (if you don't, please see the movie again).
2. His mother visited him. But he was fighting with someother guy. So she got frustrated and came out. You may have a question, why she hates him ? The answer is.....just imagine ! A deaf and dumb lady struggling with a small girl child. How difficult it would be for her to survive this world without the help of anyone ! from this, we have to understand her "vairaagyam".
3. oh...god ! That's supposed to be the best part of the movie !!! idhai vittuttu vera edhai thaan neengga rasichirukka mudiyum !!??
This is one of the best movies, i've ever seen. But it needs some concentration and intelligence to understand it, I suppose.

aanavan,
I don't get you. anyway, what I tried to tell was...
Everybody cannot understand everything. Can everybody understand the concept of 'matrix' ? It's a bit difficult. It needs some basic understanding of concepts. Understadning Nandhaa is almost the same.
I saw the movie twice to understand the love and affection of the hero towards his mother, his basic qualities etc. moreover, that guy is not at all romantic. That has been explained like a 'kavidhai' by Bala. How many people would have understood that ? what do you say ?

This five crore movie will find it difficult to recover its over budgeted cost...Also KAASI is now speed breaker for Nandha's crowd....Producers from USA HAVE STARTED CRYING now as this will not be a hit......Also Thavasi has not done that well in mofusil as mentioned in media.....

Ananthi,
In the Deewali Release, the only movie which is running in the first released threatr is Nandha. The others have been removed from the theatres in either A or B or C centres. The movie is running extremely well in Singapore, Dubai, Canada and UK and also in South Africa. Then how you can tell the producers are crying. If they are crying, how come they announce the production of the next movie, under the music of Yuvan. Please, see around write your comments.

Thamarai,
This is just to drive some (of my) thoughts home:
1. I liked the part when RajKiran addresses Nandha. It was filmed and worded beautifully. But I can never concur with the message that was passed on! From the chatacters' shoes it might make sense, but this could be true for most of the movies that we see - not just Nandha!
2. I do remember that Nandha's mother visits him JUST once! But, is a mother capable of just and only that? Nandha was not portrayed to be a rough and tough guy who always fights - not atleast until he was shown to be like that after he comes out of the jail! The viewers are to presume (or may it is so) that he turned hard at heart because his mother discarded him - this is somewhat acceptable - but still it doesn't clarify why his mother would not go to see him again! It was after all for her sake that her son went to jail, right? Making her deaf and dumb cannot be used to justify her role! You say that "she struggled to raise her small girl child", but not the director!
3. Nandha has become the way he did because his mother never visited him and that he loved her so much or to make it easy on us, let us assume that he is the way he is by birth. I think this is not something new in our movies.
-- Otherwise, I liked the movie for its screenplay and narration.

Karthi,
1. 'From the chatacters' shoes it might make sense' - that's what is needed, right ? What else do you want ?
2. His roughness is explained in the jail scene itself. 'It was after all for her sake that her son went to jail, right?'...You're correct. We know that. But it's not necessary that his mother should also think like us. She might be thinking that it was sooo cruel to punish her husband that way.
3. I think this is not something new in our movies'....What's is new ? Are you talking about the story line ? If so, nothing is new in our movies. Only the way of narrating things makes the film good or bad. you can take any movie for example. In that way, Nandhaa is one of the best movies.

'Mounam Pesiyadhe'.

Music : Yuvan.
Direction : Ameer (Associate director for Nandhaa & Sethu)
The pooja ceremony was held at Taj Connemara on 13th of this month. Heroine is not yet finalized.

"She might be thinking that it was sooo cruel to punish her husband that way."
- Nandhaa did not intend to kill his father. He just hit him in anger. That is all. If his mother cannot understand this then it's a big hole in the story!
Even if we take that Nandaa is like that...I felt something was missing - kala parimaanam? - I felt the movie did not progress gradually to its ending to justify the (many) assumptions that we have made.
In fact, it was the other way. The director thought the ending would be a punch in the story line. It is. But, the story was driven forcibly to its end.
Bala would have a tough time if he's to portray the same story by making Nandha's mother - a woman who could talk!
