NagaS, i don't think the kisu kisu is true..... in most of films in which ARR is the MD, we have seen this, but finally the film comes out with ARR as the MD (of course, if the film will come after 8-12 months)..... so guys don't get excited.....
KS i agree with u on HH singing.... i really saw that in many places he tried not to kill the words :-)...... iam sure the songs are going to go 100% apt with the movie..... hope the *old* IR fans (who hates this album) like the songs after watching the movie.....

The news says IR and Partheeban are joining in **another** project ... not Eeleeloo, It may be dropped as Partheeban's earlier 'drop's .. KaruppaNNa samy, SothuKatchi, Kangeyam KaaLai etc.,

I don't think Partheeban coming back to IR is not a big deal. He ran out of stuff after his first movie 'puthiya pAthai'. His 'housefull' is ok movie. OTH, I would be so happy if Mahendran joins with Ilayaraaja. I would say he was the best in early 80s. It's unfortunate he didn't do anything after 'kai kOdukkum kai' apart from 'sAsanam'(I don't think it's coming out soon).

I was listening to 'kAsi' consistently for a while but now switched to 'pAttu' and 'oLiyilE'. They are just too good.

After listening to Azhagi and Kaasi, I am really wondering, how a man at the age of 50+, is tuning such a fast paced melody, which makes your mind feel fresh. Really, Dr. M. Karnunanidhi gave an opt title to Dr. Rasaiyah. Isai Gnani - an apt title for this music genious.

I think its IR's way of saying ..no I will not orchestrate the complete song with this beat :)
Re: HariHaran. Here is an imaginary conversation.
"Okay, Hari..you are a good singer. Everybody loves you. But if you want to sing in tamil. You've got to sing songs like these. You are going to sing all the songs. Now this should be a good exercise. Make sure you pronounce everything right..and sing like a tamil"...Then the recording is done..IR says.."okay ..not bad. You are much more a tamil now than before..lets cut the CD"

In "Paatu solli" from Azhagi, IR walks tall. Brilliantly composed. Hope its picturized well and get its due recognition.

:) very true. it is very evident that it was intentional - less modern beat, simple orchestration, keeping the song simple without much of emotions to suite the character. And what to say of HH...paavam, inspite of all the hardships he had to undergo during the recordings, i only hope he enjoyed it and is a much happier man today:)
Sure the Mumbai Mohams and others can take a lesson or two from this. We need this kind of albums if not often, atleast once in a while, to keep the scarcely existing sanctity intact. Atleast among MDs, after listening to this album hope they realise where they stand today and change for better.
We need people with the kind of courage, conviction and resolve that IR has to bring about a change for better amongst us.

rigthly said Anand Mahadevan....Except the "KURUVI KODAINJA" song in AZAGKI, all others are top class...(the traditional "songs that would grow on you" stuff that IR is so adept in creating).....
KAASI & AZAGKI...lovely companions to all lonely hearts out there.....thank you dear maestro...

:-) dear S...lets avoid any comparisons on IR. Let people who have doubts argue it out. That is why i have given the link of that discussion thread meant for this purpose. We will maintain some peace over this thread. (And if we definetly must, we can fight in other threads, there are plenty of those which relish on such fights, trust me, i have been there myself)...IMHO.
Anyways, guys....any feedback on AANDAAN ADIMAI...as i said, there are a few glittering gems in that album by maestro.

and some more gems in KAADHAL SAADHI....i could not imagine that this is the man who created music for HEY RAM or FRIENDS...how much variety and look how immaculately IR has shifted gears to suit the diverse amibience of different movies like BHARATHI, HEY RAM, FREINDS, KAADHAL SAADHI and now the RUN AWAY HIT KAASI. Kaasi, IMHO might just surpass CHINNATHAMBI in its mass appeal. COOL.

darul...use "single" line spacing and not "1.5" line spacing between sentences. This will save valuable space in TFMPage. Thanks.
