Influence of TFM page

Truly, it is my inquisitiveness to understand the influence of TFM page on anything. I am aware of the fact that some musicians visit this page then and there. How seriously they take the views of people? Any idea. Though regular usual fights are in flame, to what extent they influence on anything? Is it just a time pass site. How many of us have comprehend the true worth of this (if any). Let me know the suggestions from all sectorians

  After what you said above and after your now-gone-stale input in the link above, it's very hard to believe for a 38 year old who enjoys MSV music but had a void 17 years before arr came in in '93.
  
  What's even more hard to believe is that a person can enjoy a music from a golden age era and also enjoy modern age music but can can fail to realize a vituouso like IR in between.

  Enjoying IR's music is one thing but at the cost of mudslinging other MDs is what I was not for.Why dont you go thru some of my posts in SOTD as well?During your hay days either one has to be pro-IR or against and those were the only identities a dFer could take(rather offered!) and I chose the other one.
  
  The admin those days did little to support the cases and causes of other MDs.
  
  You have taken efforts to unearth the old post, I wish you go thru the sycophancy & cacaphoney that had engulfed the newtfmpage in 1998-1999.
  
  classics like KVM's "Kannodu kannal" or VK's Oru paarvai or GKV's "MegangaLe" were overlooked by the both the factions.Even now you see the old ugly head cropping up saying that all the GKV's compositions were IR's,Agni Satchi song looks like an IR composition etc.But for a factual and brilliant write-up chronologically by Saravanan the normal Dfer would tend believe such pig-headed statement regarding GKV.
  
  No one was actually Anti-IR,it was just a position that HCIRF thrust upon people who expressed their liking for any other MD.
  
  To appreciate good music it requires a panoramic view and that its currently available.Appreciative skill is something which is supposed to improve proportionately with one's exposure and unbiased-acceptance levels.For me,it has improved ........

  i dont think 1998-99 had too many IR fans kicking over ARR fans.We had WhyNot,ROTFL,Are Yaar,tigger,no jalra,Gowri,yourself etc etc in ARR camp. Those were the days the page was balanced interms of IR and ARR fans and thats one of the reason y we had soo much fights.
  If we take a summary of your total posts in newtfmpage,95% wud either apprecuiate ARR,MSV or other MD's and the rest 5%for the poor IR.
  The logic is simple. Its similar to an ordinary indian cricket fan feeling , who wants a pakistan defeat in a final eventhough india is out of the tournament.
  Instead of taking sides(ARR camp) you could hav preached balance in newtfmpage.That would be better.Your 'I helped the weaker side' statement is just an excuse to hide your bias.
  Why u absconded in threads like "Greatest Contribution of Ilayaraja to TFM" by Gowri when her intentions were pretty clear?
  
  "I think 'even' the hardcore IR fans seem to have been enlightened" This statement is totally unwarranted.This is just an example. Even is threads which doesnt have any ARR bashing you wud wait for a chance to bringdown IR.How do you justify that?

  Influence of newtfmpage-
  - Reduction in productivity at office when folks visit newtfmpage
  - Network congestion
  - Forget people's real names and start calling by TFM nicks.
  - The human race can be classified into two divisions - HCIRFs and HCARRFs
  - The word 'Discussion' or 'Forum' reminds only of newtfmpage
  - When you talk/mail with others, you start talking more in TFM lingo and use more of TFM vocabulary (you know what it means)
  - You can meet a whole lot of people with varying tastes i.e. a person who still remembers the song situation from a 1951 tamil movie and one who remembers which IP belongs to which person.
  - Ofcourse, you get to learn about proxies, anonymizers, IPs and little bit of networking too
  - You might be talking to your brother/sister/cousin/teacher/student/boyfriend/girlfriend in newtfmpage without knowing who they really are.
  - newtfmpage is a stress-reliever. When you are really angry and want to take it out on someone, come here. It works !

  Maverick used to cut and paste many interesting conversations that happens in newtfmpage. The one I still remember is the thread in which someone translated for "omaha zeeya" from that kaakha kaakha.
  
  Then I started visiting this page some 1 1/2 years back. It was this why no less female participation thread. It was great fun there. I met C~P, curses(Later I came to know curses and magix are split personalities), paran, jacky and many others. I had no clue about what this forum was meant for, and slowly started visiting other threads.
  
  I was amazed at the speed by which people provide information. Like AE was released 21st of may 2004 and thread was opened some 7 8 months before, when even the music was not out.
  
  I had never posted anything serious. Here there are jambavans who are posting after knowing so much about newtfmpage and where was I :-D
  
  Right from my childhood I have always been fascinated by lyrics more than the song and that tempted to open a thread LOTD (bb kitta nallavan madhiri naadagam aadaradhu vera vishayam ;-))
  
  As Maverick, rightly said I have made many a friends here in TFM. Very Interesting conversations and many wonderful threads.
  
  Thanks to people like Saravanan. I got to know more about TFM. wow. What an information store he is!!!
  
  And this ketta vaarthai gumbals attack once in 2 or 3 months. Mathavanga IP use panni kevalam post panradhu. Good it has stopped now.
  
  Really newtfmpage is a great knowledge store and a wonderful stress reliever :-)

  OISG, in reality 1997 and 98 witnessed some of the best threads and posts here in newtfmpage. I dont think you were around here at that time. There were bunch of threads where technical discussions took place including your favourite MD's thread "Creativity of MSV". Of course every year since 98 we have had some junk threads with the usual fights and mudslinging that you talk about. But overall the quality of discussions and posters was much superior in 97 and 98 as compared to now. In an attempt to defend their idols each of those posters brought out interesting points. Now you see just mudslinging and little else. Except for dhool SOTD thread I cant find one decent thread to read in this page.

  is quite untrue. Until late 98 or early 99 or so, TFM admin was very strict about netiquette being followed.There were interesting threads on MSV, KVM etc. Even V.Kumar's songs and other rare songs were discussed. You have to just look patiently in the archives. Of course we didnt have Sara back then :-) but the collective input was still overwhelming.
  
  But once we had a flood of posters starting sometime around Y2K it could no longer be tightly controlled.
